"MARY POPPINS" IS A SOLUTION THAT MEETS THE NEEDS OF FAMILIES WHILE PROMOTING PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION. WE ARE PROUD TO BE ABLE TO OFFER THIS SERVICE IN RESPONSE TO TWO MAJOR SOCIAL CHALLENGES. In Geneva today, there is a shortage of around 4,000 crèche places. This shortage puts parents in serious difficulty. The former Département de la Solidarité et de l'Emploi (Department of Solidarity and Employment), as part of its solidarity employment scheme, wanted to look into this problem and called on our foundation.

022 Familles, in collaboration with the Cantonal Employment Office, offers families an alternative home-based childcare solution. A concrete solution for around 180 families a year, and an integration enterprise for almost 200 women, a DNA program of 022 Familles.

At 022 Familles, we are particularly concerned about the chronic shortage of childcare places. That's one of the reasons why, in 2009, under our former name of Pro Juventute Genève, we accepted the challenge of creating a new form of childcare for pre-school-age children. The project was conceived and implemented in collaboration with the City of Geneva's Délégation à la petite enfance.

Work on this new project began in February 2007. We had a year to design the Mary Poppins social enterprise, with 240 hours of training for future parental assistants, including 120 hours of theory and 120 hours of practice in day-care centers.

Mary Poppins begins with a new training program lasting several months in collaboration with ORTRA Sante Social and the crèches, which then leads, if successful, to a commitment to the company with an open-ended contract. This new form of childcare takes place in your home. Once hired, our parental assistants work in your home, according to your needs. It has been designed to meet your needs as closely as possible.
