Kinderkrippe BAMBI Altstetten (Zürich)

Before there was a BAMBI, there were not as many daycare centers in the city of Zurich as there are today. The general opinion in Switzerland about external childcare was also not yet so positive, because the mother ultimately belonged behind the hearth and not in the working world. It was the rule that women had to decide whether to pursue a career or have children and stay at home.

Jadwiga Cervoni quickly recognized the need, also because of her own three children, and decided to set up an offer to support parents in the same situation, to create a place where parents can meet and exchange ideas and, above all, where children can play and make friends with their peers.
The goal was to offer the children a real paradise, which is why at the beginning we were called Kinderparadies Bambi.

In the summer of 1995, Jadwiga Cervoni opened the first Kinderparadies Bambi at Dachslernstrasse 69, in 8048 Zurich. Parents could talk to each other while the little ones were looked after by us and had fun together. When a child had settled in well with us, the parents could pursue their obligations or their profession. Flexibility and family orientation were already a matter of course for us at that time.
The parents could come whenever they wanted and the child was allowed to play with us for as long as he or she wanted. Whether for just one hour or the whole day, we were there for the families.

Bambi became more and more popular and well-known and we had to move to another property to offer more space to the children and also opened new locations. To avoid misunderstandings we renamed the Bambi Children's Paradise to Bambi Daycare Center.

Today, we offer over 300 full-day places in the Bambi day nurseries throughout the city of Zurich and Opfikon and Regensdorf, where we provide individual support for the children. Thanks to these crèche places, many parents can now reconcile work and family life, women have the freedom to choose whether to pursue a career or education, the Swiss economy is promoted and children are professionally supported in their development.
