Kita Burgergut (Steffisburg)

The Villa Burgergut on the Burgergut site in Steffisburg has been through a lot and seen a lot.

In summer 2019, the Burgergut daycare center moved into what used to be retirement apartments: The rooms of the magnificent old house were converted to make them suitable for children, while retaining the charm of the old building. The rooms are bright and spacious and enliven the daycare center's everyday life with lovingly furnished educational spaces: for example, there is a movement room, a studio, a sensory room and a role-play room. Outside, the children, who are looked after in two age groups, can enjoy a large, sheltered garden that runs around the building. Wooden blocks and old pipes invite them to build something themselves and get creative. There is also an old tree trunk for climbing, garden beds with flowers and tomatoes, a sandpit and lots of vehicles such as tractors and bicycles. The daycare center is centrally located and easily accessible by public transport as well as by car. Regular excursions to the nearby forest offer adventure and variety. In addition to the daycare center, the Burgergut site is also home to the Burgerheim, a farm with animals and a restaurant. Young and old meet here as a matter of course. The exchange and cooperation between the various areas and players on the Burgergut site are deliberately encouraged. For example, the food from the Schüür restaurant next door is fresh, regional and specially prepared for the daycare center every day - with vegetables, milk and meat from the Burgergut farm.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, older children can register for the forest group. The children go into the forest between March and September, where a great forest playground awaits them. Here the children can gain valuable experience of nature, experiment with natural materials and build forest houses.
