The children from the Dählhölzli daycare center love spending time in the Dählhölzli Forest: Every Thursday—from March through fall—the Birke group spends the whole day in the forest, which is just a five-minute walk away. Here, the children will find a forest sofa built just for them, a barbecue area where lunch is cooked, a little hut made of branches, and plenty of space to relax, play, and run around. Close to nature yet right in the heart of the city—that’s what sets the Dählhölzli Daycare Center apart. It’s located in the Kirchenfeld neighborhood on the grounds of the tennis club, right next to Ka-We-De, the Dählhölzli Zoo, and the kindergarten. There’s no street—just a footpath that runs past the small, family-friendly daycare center. The children can plant and harvest the vegetable garden themselves. A sandbox, a slide, a climbing tower, and much more provide plenty of variety around the building.
