This stately townhouse with its warm red facade has long been a home for children. Many parents who bring their children to Dängelibänz attended the daycare center here themselves as children. It has been operated by leolea since 2005. The building on Seidenweg is located in the heart of Bern’s Länggasse neighborhood and was completely renovated in 2018. Now the bathrooms feature age-appropriate fixtures, and the bright rooms radiate friendliness and warmth thanks to the new lighting and color scheme. Divided into three age-appropriate groups, the children find their own cozy, family-like retreat across three floors. In the rooms on the fourth floor and in the spacious, cozy attic, children from different groups can come together. Whether in the learning spaces tailored to their individual interests or during shared activities like play and exercise, all the children enjoy spending time together here. In the cozy garden, they can play and “hang out,” and for children ages 3 and up, regular outings to the nearby Bremgarten Forest are offered. The center’s own forest area features a fire pit and a forest sofa and is designed together with the children based on their ideas and suggestions.
